Here are my tips how to harvest and store radish seeds from your garden plants for later use
First choose which radish plants will go to seed, it must be the healthiest and strongest one!Continue caring for your radishes, remove any weeds growing around them and keep the soil moist. It may take another couple of weeks before your radishes develop flower buds and seedpods.
As your radish plants continue to grow, they will send up one or maybe two stems. Once these stems grow long and strong, they will sprout small buds. From these buds, the seed pods will emerge. The seed pods will grow, taking on a long, pointed shape.
Once the pods are browning, you can pull the entire plant and put it in a bag and hang the bag in a dry location.
Collecting Radish Seeds
Allow the seeds to completely mature naturally. Once they are completely mature, the pods pop open and the seeds drop into the bag. Then You can collect your radish seeds.
Just remember, that if you prefer saving your own seeds for the next season, it is important to choose to grow just one radish variety in your garden. That is the only way to avoid cross-pollinating of different radishes and losing their primary characteristics.
