Plant description
Mallow is a genus of about 30 species of annuals, biennials and perennials in the family Malvaceae, native to Europe, northern Africa and Asia. The plant grows up to a height of three feet and produces beautiful, eye-catching, cup-shaped flowers. The flowers have five petals and vary in color from pink to purple and white.
Plant habitat
Mallow grows prolifically and plentifully in poor soils.
It is so easy to identify mallow leaves as the leaves are quite large and have a lobed rounded, sometimes ruffled, and look unlike any other species. The leaves alternate along the main stem and can be hairy, yet soft, and about 4 inches (10 cm) in length.
Mallow is one of the most amazing, healing weeds on the planet and was once at the top of medieval herbal medicine. This amazing plant was used to treat many conditions. Mallow has been used to cleanse the liver, to cure blood poisoning, and to treat many problems, such rheumatism, heartburn, and coughs.
