What do zucchini seed look like?
Zucchini seeds are pointy ovals and cream or light tan in color. The seeds of zucchinis are flat and very similar in appearance to other squash seeds and even gourd and pumpkin seeds. It is always best to start with good quality seeds from a reliable supplier, as it is the first step to a successful zucchini crop.

Germinating Zucchini Seeds
- Put the seeds in a glass with water and soak them for 24 hours.
- The next day, remove the seeds from the glass of water and drain them.
- Dampen a paper towel in water, and put it in the bottom of a plastic container.
- Sprinkle the seeds on the surface of the container and cover it.
- Place the seeds in a location that is warm in temperature, about 70 – 90 °F (21 – 32 °C) and be sure to keep the paper towel in the container moist, not soggy wet.
- Check your seeds daily.
- Went you see that roots have grown, it's the perfect time for transplanting them.
- Use much care when handling these tiny, delicate roots.
- Plant 2 to 3 per pot, cover them with the potting mix and water lightly the first time.
- After 3 days, your new zucchini plants will show up from the soil.
