A beautiful mix of Japanese decorative cabbage seeds in colors white, cream, pink, purple and green. Annual, cold-resistant plant that tolerates transplanting well. The ornamental cabbage is edible but is usually grown as decoration plant!
A cool-season and fast-growing plant that grows 12–18 inches tall. Blooming period is from fall through winter.
Growing Tips:
- Sow seeds directly outdoors after the danger of frost has passed.
- Spread the seeds above loamy, rich soil and do not cover.
- Keep the soil moist until germination.
- When seedlings are 3–4 inches tall, thin them to about 18–24 inches apart.
- Start seeds indoors 6–10 weeks before the last frost is expected.
- After the last frost, transplant into a sunny spot with light sandy, or loamy, soil rich in nutrients 20 inches apart.
- Immediately after planting, fertilize the soil with nitrogen and organic top dressing once.
- Water every 2 to 3 days, and in warm climates every day.
