G(caps)rowing your own organic carrots from seeds at home is easy and can provide you color, flavor and nutrition. Carrots are a great source of beta-carotene and antioxidants, and so delicious. This popular root vegetable performs best in cool temperatures "between 60-70˚F" and may be planted as soon as the soil can be worked in early spring.
There are a wide variety of shapes and sizes of carrots you can grow. Carrots take between 70 and 80 days to reach full maturity, so patience is needed to harvest. It can take the seeds about ten days to sprout, sometimes much longer if the seeds are covered in clay. Patience and careful watering are needed during this time. Before starting, always choose the best carrot seeds that you can grow in your climate!
These are the five major categories that all carrots can be divided into:
Nantes: a fast and easy to grow in a wide range of climates and soils.
🛒 Scarlet Nantes' Carrot Seeds 🛒
Scarlet Nantes' carrot seeds are easy to sow and grow outdoors in any garden. The red-orange root vegetables are sweet, crisp and full of vitamins. French Nantes-type carrots reach 6-8" long and are practically coreless.
Certified organic seeds
. Plant these organic carrot seeds outdoors in early spring after any heavy frost, and get ready to harvest just 70 days from sowing!
. Plant again midsummer or fall for an autumn harvest.

This midget variety will produce some of the most petite, flavorful carrots on the market! It is a very early carrot, growing 4-inch cylindrical roots.
Imperator: delicate carrots that need deep, sandy soil to thrive.
🛒 Imperator 58 Carrot Seeds 🛒
Imperator 58 is an AAS Winner with great flavor and high quality roots! This carrot matures in 75–77 days. Uniform, dark-orange, slightly tapered roots average 8-9” long with tender, crisp, core-less flesh. Strong 13-20” tops. Recommended for deep loose soil. It has a very sweet and tender flavor. Smooth, large, fine-grained, long, tapered roots.
Seeds Planting:
. Direct sow outside in early spring.
. Can be fall planted.
. Plant about 2” apart and 1/2“ below soil surface.
. Rows should be spaced at 18”-24” apart.
Danvers: sturdy storage carrots that do well in a root cellar and are great for juicing.
🛒 Danvers Half Long Carrot Seeds 🛒
Danvers Half-Long is a fantastic carrot to grow in shallow soils. Near perfect cylindrical roots grow to about 15-18 cm (6-7") in length. With tender reddish-orange skin and a sweet taste, these carrots are the perfect addition to salads, soups, stews or garnish. A high-yielding variety. They store well and are crisp and sweet for eating fresh. They're also highly preferred for canning. For best results, harvest Danvers Half Long when they are between finger size and 2 in. in diameter. Carrot seed can be sown directly into the garden as soon as the soil can be worked in the spring.
